Title: Some notice...
Post by: Tai on August 20, 2013, 12:45:48 pm
Hey there mates!
I just dropped by to let you know that the scripts are in their final testing stage. Dino and Armelin are heavily working on bug fixing and testing! While Paul and Hess are working on our new account panel. So please expect our server to be back within next week :) But remember, that the release date is not set!

It's on T3, so it will still be pretty buggy as T3 was never particularly stable, but this is great news. Will be nice to see IVMP backup and running.

It will be much more stable then before we went offline, hence we got new scripts...

Crashing won't stop, but it won't be the scripts anymore like it used to be in "RS1.7" therefore crashing gets reduced heavily.

Sounds like scripts are tested..? Or am I wrong?

Kerberiko, should I remind our closed beta test RC2 server? I dont want to be the bad guy in here but the realistic one :) Truth is way more important and we know people that really wants to play in this server and with this community, will wait whatever the situation is.. Since in RC2 if I dont remember wrong a good working, scripted server was promised in RC 2 after long time waiting and the result was sadly a disaster.. Of course it's the mistake of ivmp development since they had to be more careful to avoid this situation(Im writing just in case someone rush on me covering argo devs like I blame em)

Our script, been as promised. But sadly we cannot release something that actually works, if the software which should run it is bugging it up. Basically IV: Multiplayer developers did actually nothing unexpected since such movement been discussed a lot the past few months during the RC3 development.
In fact you cannot fix a building which basement collapsed, because the rest will just collapse as well. But T3 was latest "stable" version we have and the spirit on it was for about a year unreachable in the community of IV:MP.
So in the end you must admit that even if we just go back to first scripts (RS1.0) we would have a lot of fun and people in the server :) Because it's not the script in the end, it always been the spirit - a reason that we release the game mode officially as "Rock Stars Retro" and not as "Rock Stars IV 2" beside the fact it is not really version 2.0 it's more a redone 1.7 therefore it's actually version 1.8!

Redone 1.7?

Ok.
Problem Solved.

RockStars V1.7.1

We might not be able to make a version in which no one will crash, but I'm doing everything I can to shut up all the professional rank hunting back stabbers around.
Polite as usual, Armelin.

There's always been crashing. I just want it not as often as before - where you go near a car(or two) and then you crash. I want my personal vehicles :(

What the hell is with the pessimism, guys? I do understand that 2.0 turned out to be a disaster indeed, but it wasnt our developers fault, it was the fault of IVMP developers, because the client was not stable enough to handle the great scripts our scripters have written. But for crying out loud, they're telling you that you will finally be able to play GTA IV Argonath again! They will fix some bugs and implement new features in the old script and will return it to T3 client! What's wrong with that? Instead of being an ass, encourage the developers instead!

Question to developers:

Wouldnt it be possible to move the old scripts onto the latest client? So we can enjoy cool features such as better shooting sync and Y and X shooting?

We have only one server for public use, and since T3 masterlist is available we cannot go to any version for public. Sadly we need to also keep up some player counts to keep the server and development running - without players no server :)

There you go , another non reading insta poster's post... ^^"

Btw by meaning rc 2 was a disaster, it was non playable, I was expecting a server that could handle lots of players like in old times.

And now Im asking if it s going to be like t3 , even if we were crashing too much, we were still having fun so much and I ask if it is going to be like that and if it's for sure. :)

And... Will you open a new server in new IV:MP once its online version is released?

It's going to be even better than in the old times if you ask me. We will use T3 client once again, but this time, we will have new and better scripts. In fact, scripts will stay pretty much the same with few new additions.
Armelin is doing his best to reduce the client side crashes, but unfortunately, It is impossible to fix them all.

That's look promising, there is only 1 thing that remains for me to do and it is thanking for your hard work, hope for better times like in old times.

Btw I ll be glad if u answer this too.

This question was not yet discussed by managment, however I'm sure we will eventually switch to the newest (IV:MP 0.1) client once its released. I can't tell you when thats going to happen but the client is still far from being complete and it will most likely require new set of scripts.
