Browsing Reddit this morning and I happened to come across the crash test results of the Tesla Model S. The crash tests performed by the U.S. NHTSA ended up leaving all scientists/engineers so speechless, that they literally gave the Tesla Model S 5.4 Stars out of 5.
In short words: The Model S broke the NHTSA's testing equipment, and it's a $90,000 electric tank.

What a crap car.
-
Yeah obviously a crap car, well ill be back going to the Tesla dealer.
-
So they made a miniature M1 Abrahams look like a car and then do a crash test?
That car must be lined with iron as a safety barrier to score that high..
-
I love this car.
Of note, during validation of Model S roof crush protection at an independent commercial facility, the testing machine failed at just above 4 g's. While the exact number is uncertain due to Model S breaking the testing machine, what this means is that at least four additional fully loaded Model S vehicles could be placed on top of an owner's car without the roof caving in. This is achieved primarily through a center (B) pillar reinforcement attached via aerospace grade bolts.

Still a shit car.
-
How is this a shit car? Thosands of these cars are already ordered by people in Norway, cant be a shit car.
-
The less deformation a car has during a test, the higher the amount of G-force that the passengers will be exposed to. In theory you can make a car that is indestructible at a crash, however passengers would not survive.

These are factory reproduced scenarios that are most likely not going to happen, the thing about this car is it tends to use allot of carbon fiber, though I am not sure exactly how much is used or where I know that carbon fiber can absorb the shock during an accident so this car still has nice benefits in comparison to any other production car.

That is exactly the danger. If you look at Formula 1 where carbon fiber is used a long time, a number of years ago they introduced obiged non-carbon fiber deformation zones, as crashes started to damage the driver more as the car.

As I said I am unsure about the usage of Carbon Fiber in the Model S so there might not be crumple zones or any frame usage at all. But I can tell you this is a very safe car.

So the car is kind of like the USA, it's advertised as safe over mass media, but at the end of the day everyone has a gun. =)

Not mass media I don't understand why you have an obsession to bring Americas gun policies into everything but they are not related at all. You don't know the topic you are talking about because just as I was unsure about the actual usage of Carbon Fiber you can't be anymore sure so to use that analogy is incorrect.

I was just making a logical comparison.

I was just making a logical comparison.
Apparently I don't see the logic on the side of Tesla explain to me what the downside is to the model S?
-
If it's like the other models before it, would be a very 'green' car too.
I don't mind Tesla, but reminds me a lot of Lotus and Maserati.
P.S. Love the top comment on YouTube for the video:
"Looks like the Nokia 3310's now facing some serious competition."
The good ol' Nokia Brick.

As a car fanatic I've always been interested in electric cars, they are a great piece engineering. But a car like this needs more than speed, beauty, luxery, and safety. It needs "a soul" and that is impossible with no sound. I need a car like this needs to be a pleasure to all senses, including the ear, which isn't the case with this Tesla. So even if I had to money for a car like this, I would probably go to a Italian car manufacturer if I needed a luxery sedan.

You always find a way to bring USA's gun control debate into every topic, don't you?
Topic: "America is the fattest nation in the world"
Mikal: "The guns way them down."
:D

LOL. Made me chuckle.
