Hello.
I have installed GTA IV again.
The game has awful stuttering when playing though.
It mostly stutters when I move my character or a car to the left or right with the A and D keys.
Moving straight doesn't cause stuttering, and moving with arrow keys stutters much less.
I think that there was a fix for this but I don't remember which one it was.
I think that it made your game look crappy.
Oh well, does anyone have advice on how to get rid of the stuttering?
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (3.0ghz)
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 6670 1GB
RAM: 2GB DDR2
Windows 7
This is a system that can flawlessly run Far Cry 3 and Bioshock infinite on high settings.
Thanks in advance.

You can try using a commandline.txt in your game folder
Do so making a new text file named 'commandline.txt' and use this:

or download it:

1. Type "msconfig" on "search programs and files"
2. Select "Selective startup"
3. Go to "Services" and disable "Windows Event Collector" and "Windows Event Log"
I recommend you to do that only when you want to play IV, if you're playing other games set it to default
edit: had exactly the same problem

Tried using a commandline, didn't work.

I don't know why but this fixed my problem, thanks!
Why shouldn't I use it in other games though? Will it decrease performance?

Me too, I saw that on some GTA forum a year ago.

When you select "Selective startup" it doesn't load all the files, so it might cause problems.
