Title: IVMP problem
Post by: AK47 on August 31, 2013, 07:10:38 pm
Yo,

Last night I played IVMP with 0 problems, turned it off and went to sleep.
Today when I press the "LaunchIVMP"-icon, nothing happens, haven't changed anything.

I also re-installed IVMP but still nothing.

Help needed!

Can you run the single player? And by the way, try again to open LaunchIVMP.exe while at same time monitoring the task manager. Is GTAIV.exe appearing there?

Sometimes you have to start ivmp a couple of times before it starts, is this also the problem with you?

Really strange. Are you running LaunchIVMP.exe via the shortcut? If yes, try directly since the shortcut might be corrupted somehow.

Yes, running it straight from the Steam GTA IV folder!

Found this after some googling;
Follow these steps:
Install GTA IV,
Install Update 1.0.7.0,
Install IV:MP T3,
Download and install xliveless (http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=388658),
Run GTA IV Single Player at least once.

After that IVMP should work fine.

Anything I should try?

I am not sure if xliveless will do any difference but you won't lose anything if you try. Aside of that, are you completely sure that absolutely nothing happens on start? Isn't there somekind of an activity in the task manager - something that appears for a second and then disappears?

Well the GTA IV folder blinks for a sec when I press "LaunchIVMP"-icon!

Check if your antivirus software or the firewall are blocking it.

If you have windows 7 or 8 , Run it as adminstrator.

Wasn't blocked!

Yes, I got W8. Tried to run both SP and MP as admin and now it works!
