Title: SAMP Downtime Issue
Post by: Mopreme on September 01, 2013, 03:33:34 pm
Hi everyone,
Okay, over the past weeks or so I've been thinking that every time I open the SAMP Client and see 0/0 players on Argo, it is because the server is down.
Apparently, it has something to do with my network/PC/SA setup:
When I browse through all the servers on the SAMP Client, all I see is 1 Russian server. This happens random, goes and dissapear. Sometmes, I have to wait like an hour until I see all back to normal... Sometimes, I see 0/0 players, and 5 mins later, I see 100+ players..
Anyone had an issue similar to this? I've tried deleting the SA folder in Documents as well as re-installing both SA and SAMP. Any ideas as to what's causing this and how I can debug it?
Thanks in advance.

Note: Before I started writing this post, the server was "down" on my screen, now its suddenly back to normal.. Just annoying as I'm pretty sure its something from my side that does this.

Are you using the newest IP for Argonath?

SA:MP Argonath RPG - samp.argonathrpg.com:7777
SA:MP Argonath Stunt - argonathstunt.tk:7779

Also, if you are not sure, if server is running or not, use status.argonathrpg.com (http://status.argonathrpg.com/)

Newest IP is on favourites.
Mate, the server is running. It is just on my PC that it is shown as offline on the SAMP Client.
I'm telling you; One minute I see 0/0 players no connection, the minute after I see 100+ players.
When this first started I thought there were just a lot of DDoS attacks but no, server is up but it just shows as offline on my PC: As does all servers in my Internet/Hosted tab except one random russian server.

Check if SA:MP is allowed through your firewall.

Check if SA:MP is allowed through your firewall.
From what I can see, it is allowed.
Here, to show you what I mean:

Sometimes it appears like that, other times I do see Argonath RPG on the name in the SAMP Client but with 0/0 players without Ping etc. and suddenly by itself and out of the blue, I can get connected normally. But it really happens a lot where I just have to wait for it to fix itself..

Does it happen also with different servers?

If firewall is okay and you can connect at some times, then it might be faulty internet connection (damaged cable, lost packets or something).

Yup, it happens with all the servers at the same time. Just one random server is shown in "Internet" tab, all others are shown as down.
And it can't be a faulty internet connection when I am posting here at the same time and browsing through the web normally....

Web browsing uses a different protocol and method for connecting to websites than the SA:MP client does to connect to a SA:MP server.

That being said, did you ever get this issue resolved?
