I've been looking at getting a new laptop to replace my desktop PC and at the moment, i got 2 laptops i'm checking at.
These are the specs (and links for those that understand swedish):
Laptop 1:
ASUS G750JW 17.3" Full HD - http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=781756#extra
CPU: Intel Core i7 4:e gen. 4700HQ / 2.4 GHz. 4 cores
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M - 2 GB GDDR5 SDRAM
RAM: 8 GB ( 1 x 8 GB )
HDD: 750 GB HDD / 7200 rpm
Laptop 2:
Acer Aspire V3-772G 17.3" FHD matt - http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=779553#extra
CPU: Intel Core i7 4:e gen. 4702MQ / 2.2 GHz, 4 cores
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M - 4 GB DDR3 VRAM
RAM: 16 GB ( 4 x 4 GB )
HDD: 120 GB SSD, 750 GB HDD / 5400 rpm
This will be an allround computer that i will be using for both programming, games and so on.
My dilemma here is that laptop one got a pretty good laptop based graphic card (as i understood it) which is better than the one in laptop 2 and it also got higher processor speed. However, Laptop 2 got both the double amount of RAM and a 120gb SSD which is a plus in my book. Been looking around on youtube and it looks like the GT 750M card is able to handle games like Battlefield 3 pretty well on high settings. Also the plus with Laptop 1 is that it's designed in a way that it has pretty good cooling, however that is easily fixed by getting some external cooling if i would go with laptop 2.
What is your opinion?
-
Well I have the first opinion and I'm really enjoying. Never had any issues with it and it runs like a beast!

Anything over 8GB ram is useless.
More hard drive space can also be added later.
Go for 1.
-
What are the prices (in eur or dollar)?
And do you also do intensive photoshopping or video editing, or anything alike?
-
Go for the first one since it has more ram and slightly better graphics card.

2nd one has more ram o.0

I would go with the first one, the CPU is faster and the GPU is considerably better. The GTX 765M is currently rated at 2078 at rank 66 on the list of top gpu's. The GT 750M is rated at 1607 at rank 88. Also you are not going to need over 8GB of ram unless you are planning on running multiple games and/or video editing software at the same time.

The first laptop without a doubt, not only the better GPU, but GPU Memory, the unnecessary 16gb of RAM in the second one just boosts the price, not to mention dual hard drives. The CPU itself is also rated at a higher rating than the second laptop.
If you're after heavy multi-tasking and video rendering sort of work, the second laptop.
If you're looking for quality gaming, and working with performance then the first laptop would be the better choice.

How does it work with games etc? How much FPS do you get on high end games on ultra settings and do you have any FPS drops?

It works great, I run every game I have on ultra settings and I never lag. And I never have any FPS drops!

Good to hear.
This has been put on hold for now but i will take the ASUS laptop when i can. Cheers for the input everyone!

You might end up regretting not getting an SSD. But both computers are very very good really, for the reasons you mentioned.
