Help with upgrading GPU (Graphics card)

Hey Guys,

I am due a upgrade on my GPU soon, due to the fact that my Asus 6670 1GB GDDR5 is a little outdated and really don't perform when it comes down to graphic intense games.

I am thinking of buying the Asus R7 260x 2GB GDDR5 for £110-120 on Amazon.

But this is where I would like some help, should I buy the Asus R7 260x or is there better cards for the same price (£100+£120)

My budget is only £100 - £120

Incase requirements are needed my specs are;
MOBO : ASUS P5P43T S1
CPU : Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (4cores) at 2.4GHz
RAM : 4GB GDDR3 RAM 1x4GB 1333MHz (also upgrading to 8GB)
GPU : Asus AMD Radeon 6670 1GB GDDR5 (what im upgrading)
PSU : 600w PSU
HDD : 500 Seagate 7200rpm Sata

Well, this is only about 10 quid more expensive but outperforms the rest you listed. The 660 is the only one that matches it in terms of performance but it is one generation old (will be 2 soon) and you'll benefit getting the R9 because of Mantle. If you're planning to go for any other card, go for Gigabyte instead of MSI, they're known for much superior customer service

As far as i under stood is that Mantle only currently helps if both the card and the CPU are both AMD? I could be wrong, but i would go for a Nvidia card because the are more stable.

Mantle sucks ass IMO, only a few games support it and Mantle only improves the peformance of low end AMD GPUs, the higher spec your AMD GPU is the less peformance increase you get with Mantle.
Now as for your thoughts on how to run Mantle, you only need a AMD GPU, no need for a AMD CPU.
But instead of getting something low end and then relying on Mantle to have a playable enjoyment out of your games, get something that is actually good and worth your money.
The 750Ti fits your budget perfectly and will run most demanding games at an acceptable framerate of 30 or higher at very high settings, however i do recommend you to get a non reference model.

I am certainly sure that any new GPU on that 775 rig would cause bottleneck on the PC, due the low bandwidth from the 775 motherboard PCI-Ex16 Slot. If I were you, I would save money to upgrade the Motherboard, CPU and RAM, sell the old 775 rig then buy a new rig.
