He was found guilty on 30 of 30 charges; 17 of which carry the possibility of the death penalty. 

Justice. Taking the lives of innocence is never right; if you be an individual or if you be a government. The lives of innocents should never the the targets.

That's probably good news for him. He will be put in a maximum security cell instead of a normal cell, and all his interactions will be constantly monitored. Aka, other prisoners can't bully him.

Given the fact that it takes years to carry out the death penalty, he's practically going to prison for several years without getting alien feelings in his butt everyday. If he was instead sentenced to life imprisonment he'd probably not have lived very long or if he did, the people he'd be honeymooning with certainly wouldn't be his 72 virgins
