My laptop isn't the same

Basically, my laptop isn't the same as it was before when it comes to games, by a laaarge margin. The laptop is 3 yr old and it's an Asus K55VJ-SX005H.

For an example.
1 yr ago I used to run GTA IV on max settings without lagging, now I have trouble running it on the lowest.
Same goes for AION, a mmorpg that I play, I used to run on medium without lagging, now I can barely play on the lowest. On CS:GO the shit is the same. I used to run on high settings without any fps drop, now I have to play on the lowest settings and sometimes I still have FPS drops.

This really bothers me to be honest, it started happening not too long ago, probably like 4 months ago or something.

My C: has 50GB free out of 186GB and my D: has 212GB free out of 258GB.

6gb ram don't seem to be the problem and I updated the graphic card drivers yesterday.. Any solutions?

What makes you so sure of that?

I have the same problem as yours. I have used to play some games on maximum a year ago but now they are lagging as hell on minimum (such as COD MW3) it's probably because of overheating. laptop shouldn't be used for gaming it's more like for youtube and work and such..

That would be really bad news for me, is there any way to check by myself if my GPU burned?

No, I never seemed to have any graphic problem to be honest..

Never blacked out while playing , no blue screens, no shit, etc.. that's why I'm in doubt about GPU being burned.

Did you check how much memory do the games take while playing? Did you check what's the temperature of GPU and CPU while the laptop is stressed or experiencing such problems? If not please do and tell us.

Probably gonna get caned for this.

But I tend to find that if you have had your computer for multiple years and haven't done a fresh windows install recently chances are that you have alot of shit using up CPU usage, RAM usage or even GPU usage, this can be done by downloading stuff you shouldnt really download, dodgy programs, torrents etc. They soon build up and begin to have a effect on your computer, you know your computer performance more then any of us, I myself when I notice dips in performance I begin with drivers, and the basic stuff such as a general PC clean up.

Had the same issue myself with BF4 one min I could play it fine on my 970, next time it took a dump, a PC clean up or fresh install usually does the trick, of-course if you don't want to format your shit, just make sure you get programs like ccleaner, defrag your hard-drive, check latest drivers etc.

Cheers for tip, will defrag it, clean, and all that you've said.

If that doesn't work, I'll ask a friend of mine to format my PC and re-install the basic shit, updated drivers, etc. and then I'll be careful on what to download and try not to stack up much shit. I know that I have a lot of programs that I do not use, but I don't know which.

Thanks, by the way ;)

Its of-course my personal opinion on it as I felt that doing that is pretty much the cure of most things, just of-course keep stuff you need and that and make sure not to install shit off websites unknown to you and such.

and its more then fine, give us a update on how you got on.  ;)
