How long did it take the Kepler? 7 years?
I am really excited about this as it is confirmed by NASA as the first-near-earth that might be habitable.
Another 20 years and we got 2 earths to take care of  :bananarock:

Umm.. no and no.

The planet is in the 'habitable zone' of it's own sun. This by no means is an indication that it is habitable. The habitable zone is a particular range of distance from the sun, between which life could originate and sustain itself with a high probability of success.
The photo you see up there is an artist's rendition. The planet does not actually look like that. At all. It just looks like a tiny white dot, there is no way of knowing what it actually looks like up close. We know that it's diameter is 60% more than the earth's. We know how far it is from it's sun. We know how big it's sun is. That's about it. For the most past, it may have a atmosphere of toxic gases or may be composed of solid diamond. Statistically speaking, it's neither.

The only reason the planet is even remotely interesting is the fact that it both lies in the habitable zone of it's sun and that it is having about the same size as the earth. This is evidence in the direction that the earth was not an anomaly.

Yes, and the Eiffel tower in Paris is made of bread.

It's interesting that a few planets have now been found with a few properties similar to Earth. This one is meant to be the most alike to date, but a shame that it is a little beyond our reach. :)
