I don't have a house so if i buy a car would i lose it after i log off or does it stay there, somehow

When you buy your car, you can use /delivercar and it will spawn there next time you spawn, but make sure you destroy the car when you log back in 1st.
 
You do not need a house to do this.

To reset the spawn point.

You /delivercar, log back in, its still at the original spawnpoint.

you /delivercar, Destroy it, Log back in, if its not there, find & destroy again - Viola, carspawn set.
