The mentioned ROM had one-click installers on both phone and desktop but neither work anymore, and the links with which you were able to download those installers are no longer available. How the hell do I install it anymore? Has it been abandoned or something? I do not know how t do the entire flashing bussiness so the one-click installer was a perfect solution but for some reason it's gone without a trace..

That's the tricky part. It's a GSmart Classic Dual SIM, running Android 5.1

I've never even heard of that. If you cannot find it on XDA forums, you're probably fucked.

Ikr, it's an Eastern European brand.
Does the model actually matter tho?

Yes, it matters. ROMs are built for a specific phone model mostly due to hardware compatibility. If no-one built a Cyanogen ROM for your model, you won't be able to install it.

I do understand in phones, and Marcel is right, the phone is not being worked on XDA, theres no actual compatible custom ROM for this phone.
You probably CAN install cyanogenmod that supports duel sim, but it will be buggy as hell if not even a softbrick for the phone.
Just stick to stock mate, only way to go... unless ofcourse you want to be a developer and develop your own Cyanogenmod configurations for this phone

Your device has no support, or any developers working on it and that's due it's price range and popularity. That's why you see most mods-roms for latest phones around (or else medium-high range devices), Ex; Xperia Z series, Galaxy S.. Even my LG Spirit doesn't have any support because no serious developer would waste his time making a ROM for a phone not worth.

As for ROMs and CyanogenMod, if you do not have the patience to follow a guide (How to root, how to install custom recovery, how to nandroid backup, how to install custom rom + kernel), then you can't really do pretty much or wait for 1 click apps, because most of the time they are not 'clean'.. By doing all the procedure by your self, you are certain of what you are using. PS: If you ever happen to have a mobile device that is customizable and supported by XDA with it's own forum, never rely on nightly builds or newly fresh builds (made by only 1 dev) for daily use. (Ex; Constant crash, buggy menus, buggy phone, power-battery consumption) On the other hand, CyanogenMod is a great ROM, and all the official ports work fluently.
