How can you check your soundcard?

Hey i can not play SA yet, because my soundcard is not yet installed.

I had some problems with my PC and used a recovery CD of XP. I hope he just intalled the damaged files, but it installed the whole XP. So i lost everything. Now when i'm re-installing some programs (like SA), i can't play it yet because my soundcard is not found. I had never been a problem before. I think i can solve it when i download the software of windows.com. The only problem is that i donnu witch soundcard i have. I only know its in my computer ('ingebouwd').


How can you find witch soundcard you have pls?? (and is it a good idea to download it from windows.com)

wRONg Sickness ... My mum .. Bought a new COmputer ($1000 AUD) it has a AC97.. my sister Bought a $500 laptop it has a AC97 ... my Computer has a AC97 .. my Dad computer at work 2k$$ AUD... AC97 .. my Mates gaming computer 2.3K AC97 (all were bought within 4 years)
