GTA IV 1.0.8.0 patch. Game is not found.

pretty sure ivmp doesnt work with patch 1.0.8.0 which means you gotta downgrade to 1.0.7.0

What should I do? Plus, the game is there. Please note that I took the patch from the Rockstar Games site.

Close your IV first, then try these steps;

• Extract that file in your desktop
• Open Run (Windows Start key + R)
• Copy this and edit it to the correct paths; "Path to file" /f "Path to GTA IV directory"
• Follow the steps of the setup and you`re done.

As Brian said, installing patch 1.0.8.0 disables your ability to play IV:MP again, that needs a reinstall of Patch 1.0.7.0 again.

i don't think he is trying to install the patch to play on IVMP, anyway the issue is not related to launching IVMP client, he is trying to install the patch while the game is running on background...

Well, not really... I just want to see what performance enhancements it would bring. But, since

I will have to just give up installing the 1.0.8.0 patch until Neproify completes a IV:MP version for 1.0.8.0, or, for GTA IV 10 Year Anniversary to come and for me to move to the official Social Club multiplayer. But, my question is: Has anyone tried the newest patch to confirm if it is true or not? I would like some screenshots, as well.

On your background there is IV:MP client running windowed, you still have to quit the game if you want to install the latest patch, i thought that was obvious, wasn't it?

Man, I tried installing it without the game in the background earlier today with the same result.

i tried the patch on my old laptop, i had huge lag spikes for no reason while on 1.0.7.0 everything was just "fine", as we're used to with IVMP in general.

I haven't tried it yet on this one and i have no intention to since it's time wasted behind a bad ported game.


Anyway you should extract the exe and run it again, if that doesn't work maybe it's because you either changed installation path or something i'm not aware of

Well, I think it is because of my own GTA IV, probably because it is "exposed" to Rockstar Games us uneligible.  In rest, I don't think I did anything to them when I installed my GTA IV single player. But, a question would be: Why did they come with a patch 6 years after the last patch they came with?(1.0.8.0 came in November 2016)

Amyway, I hope I didn't waste anyone's time, but I request a lockdown of this topic because the case is quite closed. I will remain at the 1.0.7.0 GTA IV Patch. Until the GTA IV Remastered Version.

Why did they come with a patch 6 years after the last patch they came with?

Only Rockstar knows the answer to that, i could guess they just wanted to fix annoying issues that many users had when they switched to w8 and w10 and also with newer cards. It's still a bad port though.
