So, the Romanian authorities took three days to identify the "dealers" who turned out to be some people who have been payed €2000 in total to act as gun dealers. The so called military guns were actually just hunting guns and that AK-47 seen in the video was just a hunting gun. The meeting point near Ukraine was actually in the county of Mărișelu, near the Jeica village, in Bistrița-Năsăud.
It is quite far from the border with Ukraine, according to Google Maps and any other map. Inside the spoiler you will find the link to a random route from Mărișelu to the border of Romania with Ukraine.
What is peculiar is that the car that was driven by the weapon dealers in the news investigation made by Sky News has two seats, but there were three weapon dealers. That is quite peculiar, because, even if the footage shown by Sky is quite far from the car, we don't see the third dealer in the back of the car, where the weapons are. Another important detail is that one of the supposed dealer's actual Facebook profile photo is with a hunting sniper rifle that can be seen in the investigation footage. Unfortunately, I couldn't retrieve the profile photo, yet. The profile photo has also something that seems to be a deer (I might be mistaking on that one).
Here are some reaction responses after the journalism lesson "taught" by Stuart Ramsay.
One of the "dealers", an intermediary, has said the following in front of different Romanian reporters:
They asked me if I had any war weapons, I told them that I didn't, that in Romania you don't find something like that, that we aren't Afghanistan, but I can bring you hunting weapons that can be used for this scenario. They agreed and told me: Don't worry, because at the transmission it will say: All characters from this documentary are fictive and have an informational scope.
Now, what can I say, I bought it.
After all the proof that the news investigation isn't as true as Sky News claims, the journalist Stuart Ramsay still claims that his investigation is 100% real. Now, we know many news companies are looking for the sensational and that Sky News has had incidents similar to this before and that many people watch or read tabloid news. I think it's the best to just think with our minds and not let subjectivity about British people/Romanians corrupt our judgement.
