Actuallly, the plural fishes is correct when talking about fish from different species, so, MK didn't make a grammatical mistake.
Back to the topic, the idea is unsupported. Fishing can be fun through roleplaying. This way, we can even dive into the ocean to find oysters, while having fun with a couple of players.
