The European Union might want to ban two popular Turkish meals: doner kebab and shawarma, because phosphates have been used in the processing of the meat used in them.

A change in European Union rules could see doner kebabs banned across the continent, infuriating takeaways and fast-food lovers. The European Union's legislature is moving to ban the phosphates used in the slabs of meat at the heart of the popular street snack that originated in Turkey.

EU lawmakers are citing health concerns based on studies that linked phosphates to cardiovascular disease.

Owners of takeout restaurants and industry groups claim the additives are needed to keep seasoned shawarma meat juicy and flavorful, both during transport and on the vertical retail rotisseries where it is cooked.

The really weird thing is why would they want to ban shawarma and doner kebab if their only concern is the way the meat which is used for them is treated? Also, why haven't they made sure quality food is available to everyone, in every type of food possible years ago?
Also, it feels like, in a way, they want to ban Turkey from the European Union, but, it's just a speculation made by me and isn't a piece of verified information.
Still, people are the ones to blame for not knowing when too much is really too much, not the unhealthy food itself.

Phosphates are unique additives that currently have no substitution, they are used in baked goods, candy, soft drinks, meat products, BBQ meat mix and i'm sure they have more uses but i don't have a knowledge of such uses

This is just a random thing imo, also only issue is the adding of  phosphates to frozen meat, that's why the meat can be stacked as it is, they will just have to change form and have a lower quality product as meat will be dry and wont be cooked as even as with phosphates, so don't worry kebabs are not going away just the way they are made will be changed.

Hams, turkey breasts and other higher extended whole meats are best treated by injection followed by tumbling.
Hot dogs and bologna meats are comminuted with phosphate powder and salt to solubilize protein that forms a strong emulsion.
Chicken breasts,pork fillets and beef medallions are tumbled for 30 min.
Chunked and formed ham and turkey products
Meatpatties, meatballs, taco
Fillings and nuggets are simply mixed with phosphate and salt.

As you can see this is not just used in a single food prep work.

But in reality, the businesses selling these products aren't exactly Turkish. A couple of ones that I've asked in, they're from Tunisia, Pakistan, Iran, etc., and it probably is like that everywhere, not only in major cities in Europe.

Sorry for the confusion I created, it seems that you misunderstood what I said. What I actually meant is that the EU wants to ban Turkey by banning Turkish culture and cuisine from the Union.

I purposely avoided bringing politics into this but yeah, it's actually made to hit Turkey.
