In addition to the above, a "request" is exactly that. It's
not a guarantee that the requested song will be played, nor is it your
right to have your request played.
request/riˈkwest/
Noun:
An act of asking politely or formally for something.
Verb:
Politely or formally ask for.
Those who spam the request lines because their song hasn't yet been aired, and those who think their song should (for some reason known only to them) be played, will be banned from listening to the radio and requesting songs.
We are here to provide a service to the whole Argonath community and beyond - across every server (and even a few internet listeners who don't even play here), not just for one or two players. Songs requested, if accepted, are played in the order received. There's no need to send the same request more than once, or to bug DJs about when it will be played.
Any comments about requests not being aired quickly enough will result in your request being moved to the back of the DJ's track queue.
Also, I'd like to add that as we're here to serve the whole audience, we play music from every genre (within reason, or unless a show is dedicated to one certain type of music). Punishments will also be issued to those who shit on others' requests because they are heavy metal, then moan when their rap or
nigga music isn't played. A part of serving such a diverse community with clearly diverse musical interests is being able to play music for every person, whatever the genre. Often the ones who shit on one genre because they don't like it, are the ones who can't take people shitting on
their request. Politeness and courtesy cost nothing, and many of you would be better off learning that.
Additionally, any player harassing a DJ's in-game PM, forum PM, website PM, or insulting or provoking them in public or local chat will be dealt with by way of punishments. This is a service which is provided free of charge by DJs who dedicate their free time to try and please the majority while you play a game. It's much more difficult than it looks, and isn't just a case of pressing play and walking away. Planning a show requires time and effort, and executing a radio show requires patience and a calm mind. None of these things are helped by people who think they know the best way of doing everything, and have nothing of value to say. If you think you can do it better, feel free to apply here when applications open. But don't be surprised if you're accepted and receive no support from fellow team members. Those wishing to report abuse (by players or DJs) should e-mail:
[email protected].
Finally, those players who insist on requesting the
same songs, day in, day out should really buy an MP3 player which can hold more than 5 songs. Variety is key, and don't be surprised to see DJs deny tracks which are constantly requested every day (indeed DJs are advised not to play the same track more than once in a show), as this constant requesting of the same songs by the few leads to a considerable waste of DJs' time.
---
tl;dr: A request is exactly that; and nothing more. Buy a dictionary to distinguish in future. Abuse isn't tolerated towards any DJ - report it to the leaders:
[email protected]. Play fair, and be tolerant. This is a motto which many players should adopt - because it's not happening in a number of cases.
