TL;DR some of this but, this is a roleplay server not a grinding for money,  a team death match server or cops vs robbers.
From the first time a player registers, steps in the server, logs in, the player is/should/must be expected to be in a roleplay scene 100%.
I’d leave only a few roleplay scenes where it’d have to be accepted by both parties and can be stopped anytime one of the parties feels uncomfortable, letting administration know too.

Metagaming and powergaming punishments could be often used, there’s no reason for player hunting, group hunting 99% of the time, just because something is seen on this forum OCCly doesn’t mean it can be taken ICly.

Some players don’t yet understand but one day they’ll that in roleplay, the actual roleplay scenes matter more than any other thing around, cash, shootouts, roleplay will always beat all of it because that’s how you have a good time around.

Implementing a few different things around some scripts would perhaps make the roleplay scene easier, like, not have to choose a skin and keep your actual when jumping in mechanic duty.
More accessories like, dufflebags, backpacks, etc, maybe let the players store some stuff in those bags.

Just keep in mind and think about it, ask it to yourself, is this realistic ? Before doing it.
When other players open, bars, cafes, restaurants, go over there, roleplay, have a meal. Just because it’s not your basic shootout ending scene doesn’t mean it’s lame, it’s lame if you don’t give it a try.

Side idea about this: whenever a player wants to open a restaurant or something, a blip on the radar/gps could be used to let other players know the location easier.

I'm talking for myself but I'm really tired of the metagaming/powergaming. There're rules which stopped to being followed since 2015/2016. Do a roleplay the best way you can, what matters if this is a light or heavy roleplay server? Isn't a ROLEPLAY server? Use your imagination, create new scenarios instead of hunting, copbaiting, bringing hate between the _nametag. We're humans, we can think, write, read, make friends instead enemies...

There are much things to do, waste your money in some fun, pay tips to the bartender, do a barbacue around your house and do everything is coming up to your imagination.

How much fights you have done with a melee weapons instead sawn-off and shits like that? People jumping like a bunny or running just to avoid a roleplay. And of course the scripts are really easy to who likes a shootouts. You can easily obtain a Deagle, Sawn-off, AK-47, Sniper and who cares it's more expensive? We just need to grow weed for 3 hours and we can buy weapons for a month or more.

There are cars in dealerships ain't being bought for years like Regina, Bobcat and others because we choose the best car to speed away from cops or our enemies.

There should have some bags like Djinn said above.
For example: Your body can carry 4kg (Deagle 3kg, 100bullets 1kg). If you want to carry more, you can buy a dufflebag or backpack and it would give to you like 10kg or 15kg. Oh but everyone gonna buy that dufflebag to carry more things BUT is up to you ADMINS to control people who does * ME lifts up his shirt and takes out a deagle. * and on shootouts they are bunnyhopping and switching weapons like they can store all of those guns up their ass.

The problems are the players? Yes. The problems are the administration? Yes.
What to do? Re-do the rules, make people obey them and punish who disobeys. If you want to make this server GREAT again, work for it and instead of new scripts, we need people to be forced to ROLEPLAY instead of just care about shootouts. If it's needed to reset everything, I really don't care if it comes with a fresh mentallity from the players.

I don't want to ofend anyone, players nor administration, I just want to give you an advice. I don't need to be recognized by all of you, I don't need to admin, helper or anyone else. I just need to be me, someone who cares about this server because I started playing on this server since 2011 and It's a pleasure what this community taught me and the fun I had before.

These all seem like good ideas, but it seems almost like you are calling for the complete reconstruction of the server...

Everyone has suggested great ideas so far regarding roleplay standards, but jumping from a light rp server to a very strict one would be a very bad idea in my opinion. It should all be done step by step.

For one, remove things like /area and blips maybe and add masks which can hide your name tag. If that goes well then you can keep applying more rules regarding roleplay.

I have to agree, these are a reach. However the KG thing, that was bugged at the beginning of RS5, but I think it will make a comeback when the storage script works properly.

For example:

"/me attempts to pin down Stivi."
"Stivi starts resisting by attempting to kick Spike."

As such, I just believe that carrying out roleplay like this will make it more enjoyable and fluid. Without having to be forced to stop and ask in /do the outcome of every single action.

I agree with that and it is something I do myself, however, with the current server state, a lot of people wouldn't reply to your /me and you are kinda forced to rush into typing that /em sentence so you get your RP going. It is however acceptable in RP, I feel like, and isn't a problem as of yet.


@TheGreasyChopper I believe that IC/OOC is "in RP" and "out of RP" in Argonath, any staff member with common sense will agree on that. :p Although personally, I would be against the implementation of a /ooc chat, simply because I love the freedom Argonath gives you to be able to talk in /L with your friends about summer vacations or something. With that being said, I am supportive of clear rules regarding the usage of chats. This is something we do in our group but it is not something sophisticated or too advanced for Argo, I think a lot of people are smart enough to know this(and already use the same system):

RP chats:
/W, /LW (! a lot of people don't know this command, give it some love pls !), /L, /S, /CB, /R, /E, /pilot, /atc, /ad, etc.

Non-RP chats:
/p, /gm, ??.

Unless both players agree or are not interacting with each other in a RP manner, then, by all means, use any chat you want.

And the /pm rules I believe still applies, if you are using /pm for RP purposes, then it counts as valid RP. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING /PM AS RP.



Also for metagaming to be prohibited, we would have to remove /area, /crime and a bunch of other commands that make our life easier, in this light-RP server. I'm kinda against it, clearly, otherwise I'd be in other heavy RP servers

This has to be done. I believe it is in the best interest of both the players a staff is a proper topic outlines all the rules in the server, perhaps even giving examples and how they should be handled. Especially regarding roleplay rules which are currently in a grey area. I'm not saying to write out every possible scenario since that's impossible. However, the rules should be clearly outlined so that those current grey areas are minimised.


Overall I'm for the addition of IC and OOC as well as a proper outline of roleplay rules including metagaming and powergaming. As well as a clear updated topic containing all the rules and their explanations that way both players and admins are on the same page, with less of a grey zone.
