PC Appearence: How to place your signature

Since I get this question frequently I thought it would be a good idea to post this here since you could call the forum software ...I would like a sticky if not here then In off topic (this is asked a lot)

Step one

Do you know how to host picture? otherwise ill explain: go to by example http://imageshack.us/  (there are more like photobucket but I use this because you can also upload without being registered)

then upload your signature there ..after you wait a while you will see a page with codes you want to use the code for forums

NOT the thumbnail (those are on top of the page) you want the Hotlink for forums thats below some advertisements (second half of the page)

the first part is a url link - where it says

Code: [Select]

[URL=http://imageshack.us]you kan put in YOUR own url and link to a site or your forum profile there.

Here it is if put on a message or normal forum page (this way you can also post full size screenshots in a post)

since I used a pic of slayers lead guitarist Kerry King it links to the slayer website (I put it in )

ok step two

now you have the code you can also use it to put your sig up here are the steps

• 1: Click on profile in the navigation bar
• 2; Under Modify profile click on :Forum profile information
• 3:scroll down untill you see signature there is a big box next to it copy/paste your link in that box
• 4: If you have room left you can also put some words with it or in my case scrolling text but dont exceed the max

Use www.photobucket.com if you need to host images, it's the best free service.
If your signature is too big, resize it with Photoshop (Or any other program), otherwise the forum will resize it, which won't look good.

This is a good guide. Thanks for posting this cuz it will help alot of people...BTW correct me I am wrong but doesn't Photobucket.com have a resize tool too?

Yes Luke, Photobucket has a resize option but you will never get the quality you can get by using Photoshop.
