I understand that you can't quote from locked topics because by default, the quote is a reply to the topic, but many times I want use a quote from a locked topic in a place that isn't locked, so could it be possible to enable this somehow?

If not, could someone at least explain how date code works? Here's an example:
Code: [Select]
Logs will be added to the site Argonath HUMOR pages.

1. Screenshots will not go to Humor page on site
2. Try to post the correct nicks of players in logs, not just "Some guy:"
3. Repeated situations will not go to the Humor page (not your fault though, just inform you)
4. Complains, flame will be cut and forum users warned.
5. Try to keep to the HUMOR, as it was supposed from the beginning...

Thank you.

By date code, I mean this:
date=1237826733

Incase someone is going to suggest it, yes, I do realise that you can just do one of these (third one I used date=9999999999, basically meaning just pick a random number, because it doesn't work if you don't include the date code):
Quote
...
Quote from: Aragorn from http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=29733.msg367085#msg367085 at March 24, 2009, 12:45:33 am
...
...

However, for obvious reasons, a proper quote would be more desirable. Moreover, doing these would mean just selecting the entire persons post and doing a copy and paste, but if the person used any codes in their post, then it can get very complicated because you have to check each post of the reply to make sure you're using a code that looks exactly the same.

It's maybe the code listed by posts

Example:

date=111 - January 1, 2009, 01:01:01 pm
date=112 - January 1, 2009, 01:01:05 pm
date=113 - February 5, 2010, 04:07:10 am
date=114 - December 30, 2010, 01:33:07 pm
...
date=1237826733 - March 23, 2009, 07:45:33 pm

The code in date (111) maybe the number of posts on this forum,
so maybe it's 1237826733rd posts

Hope u understand what I mean

The code in there is to locate the post by dates and/or time it's created.
For example, if you put a date 27th of March, it will show up all posts, created on that day.
If you put time on 6:30, it will show posts, created at that time.

Something like that, dunno.

The date code is (I think) the time past in miliseconds (or some other unit, maybe full seconds) from 1.01.1970 (or some other date)

Thanks Grz, that's what I was looking for. After some quick research, it's called Unix time. I remember using this from my C++ programming a while back.

Unix time converter

BTW, it's full seconds.

I swear I was JUST thinking about this, trying to quote something from a locked topic! If there's someway it could be changed It'd be really nice. I mean, if there's a way that you can have the exact time and date in there instead of just "quote", it would look a lot more.. professional. By the way I once tried to figure out the code, on the ARPD forums, tried about 20 times and got no where. lol I changed little numbers and it went to like, "January 1, 1994", but I see now Ghost, even though it'll probably be a bit hard to figure out when someone said something in milliseconds.  :(

If you clicked the link to the converter Kitsune posted, you would see that you can give either the date code OR a normal, human-readable date.
So all you need to do is rewrite the to-be-quoted topic's date to the converter and voila.
