My GPU was running a little hot (70C) so I decided to try an alternative method to cool it down a little and got it down to 55C just by blu-tacking a fan to the underside of the GPU chip. Works awesome. (The temperatures were tested during benchmarking tests.) Might be a good tip for you overclockers.

GPU manufacturers should of thought of this a long time ago. :conf:

Heard of backplates? Get a chunky piece of metal, will work better than the fan and don't use blu tac but some TIM.

When adding value gets you worse off than you were before, due to a hidden agenda against you, its time to quit. Then remember why you quit in the first place.

Todor, you're suggesting him to place a big chunk piece of metal on the back side of the card?
Am I wrong or have metals turned into insulators instead of conductors?

The backplates are usually just a mount for the heatsink/fan and are insulated so they won't really cool the back of the card.

I like SpeedFan because I use it to fool people. As I turn up the speed(Speed 1: 55% when a good temperature) the fan makes a lot of noice: "Oh my god it's going to explode!"

Lol for some reason speedfan doesn't work for me but I like to use it to read temperatures.

Heard of non-conductive(electricity) thermal compounds? And, yes, I am  ;)

Anyway I don't have a piece of metal that I can bolt to the back of my GPU. I just had a shitty fan lying around + some blu tac.

Maybe cleaning your GPU from all that dust would improve the temperature. What card is it btw?

Funny you said that cause I cleaned my PC out a few days ago and its not really made much of a difference. It's a 9800GT I'm selling it soon to make way for my new PC.
