The Ruggiero Crime Family

Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero has relocated from New York to Los Santos, breaking all contact with the Gambino Family, operating under a new Outfit in Commerce

The Ruggiero Story

Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero, with the help of Gambino underboss Aniello Dellacroce, was introduced as an Outsider. Ruggiero was a nephew of Gambino underboss Aniello Dellacroce. The Gambino family was one of the five families involved in the New York City mafia "Commission". Paul Castallano represented the Gambino Crime Family, as first in Command.

 Ruggiero began to act under command of Leader Paul Castallano, being the front man for various business', including Extortion, Racketeering, Loan Sharking and Money Laundering. Ruggiero was very trusted among the Capo's and Soldiers, and therefore was very trusted. As time went, Gambino members began to turn on Paul Castallano, seeing him as unthanful for those who worked for and alongside him. Gambino Caporegime John Gotti organised the murder of Paul Castallano, and held various meetings behind Castallano's back arranging the hit. Four hitmen were named and given their jobs, one of them being Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero. By doing this, Ruggiero would not only be labeled as Castallano's killer, but would become a "Made Man".

On December 16 1985, Thomas Bilotti and Paul Castellano were heading for a meeting with capo Frank DeCicco in an underground carpark. Castallano arrived, and was immediately gunned down by the four men. John Gotti was quick to take over as Family leader, naming Frank DeCicco his Underboss. Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero was promoted to Soldier for the assassination, and had the respect of John Gotti. The Commission families were angry that John Gotti had not spoken to them beforehand, something which must be done. The Commission arranged the murder of Frank DeCicco. DeCicco was murdered via a Car bomb, a warning to Gotti.

On April 2, 1992, Gotti was tried and convicted of Racketeering, Murder, Extortion, Money Laundering and Conspiracy to Murder. He recieved Life without Parole, leaving the Gambino family with big shoes to fill. Consigliere Frank "Frankie Loc" LoCascio was named Boss, and Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero named Capo. This regime did not last long, as Frank LoCasio was soon arrested and sentenced to 9 years imprisonment for Conspiracy to Murder.

Ruggiero took over as Boss, and quickly relocated from New York City, knowing the Commission would not stand Ruggiero become Boss, the man who murdered Castallano. Ruggiero moved the Gambino family to Los Santos, San Andreas.


Ruggiero Family Rules

Never look at the wives of friends.
Never be seen with cops.
Always being available for Cosa Nostra is a duty - even if your wife's about to give birth.
Appointments must absolutely be respected.
Wives must be treated with respect.
When asked for any information, the answer must be the truth.
Respect members and outsiders alike.
Never badmouth Ruggiero Family members.
Money cannot be appropriated if it belongs to others or to other families.
People who can't be part of Cosa Nostra: anyone who has a close relative in the police, anyone with a two-timing relative in the family, anyone who behaves badly and doesn't hold to moral values.

Ruggiero Ranks

Boss Leader of the Family. Controls all business and family matters. The Boss must be consulted before any decisions are made. Underboss Appointed by the Boss. The Underboss can appoint Capo's and can give out Jobs. The Underboss can make decisions without the Boss. Capo Capo's control Soldiers and Outsiders, giving them work. Capo's are heavily involved in the Business world, often organising meetings with other Families. Soldier Officially a Ruggiero family member. Soldiers do ground work, and run fronts. Soldiers have passed the "ritual" to become a "Made Man", which is very sacred. Outsider Associated to the family. Outsiders work with getting information and helping the Ruggiero's in deals. Name: Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero Birthplace: New York City, America Location: Los Santos, San Andreas Business Involvement: Loan Sharking, Extortion, Money Laundering, Racketeering, Murder Where he can be found: Little Italy, Commerce at his "Gentlemen's Social Club" Current Rank: Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero was born in the slums of New York City, in the 60's. Angelo always wanted to be a Made man, a part of the Cosa Nostra. Angelo was expelled from grade school at aged 7, after he did not come to school for 3 months. During those months, Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero worked for various Mafia families. When Angelo was 13, he was arrested for selling stolen Cigarettes. At 16, Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero enlisted into the United States Marines, and served there for 7 years. During his time serving, he was given the nickname "Lefty", as he was the best left handed shooter. After he finished serving in the Marines, he picked up where he left off, and was introduced into the Gambino Crime Family by Aniello Dellacroce. He earnt the respect of the Gambino family by leading several fronts and gunning down Paul Castallano. After Gotti was sentenced to life and various other Don's took over and were knocked off or sent to prison, Angelo relocated to Los Santos, San Andreas. Angelo "Lefty" Ruggiero has now picked up business again, renaming the Gambino family the "Ruggiero Family" and hiring new members.
