Under the 3 year IT study I had, I got to learn the fundamentals and basics (had it hammered into me) of Visual basic.
I however feel that this language is cheap and weak if one were to use it for more serious applications. The fact it's stinking of the Microsoft agenda makes it no better.
I need hints and help on where I can (for free) expand my knowledge on the subject of Software developing and programming. Help with choosing an proper programming language would be helpfull too.
As for programming languages, if it has cross-plattform that extends into Linux I would be extremly happy.
So far, I have been looking into C++ Java and C# as chooises to extend my knowledge to.
So I basically need unbiased help. Google is not being rather helpfull because it sent me to crappy shit websites or unserious programming websites.
I am also able to spend about 600 kr (95 $) in order to buy books and materials. So recommending an good unbiased book would be helpfull.
I'd prefer if only those who know what they are talking about would reply. Ie no script kiddies.
Thanks.
