So recently I noticed that my CPU fan started sounding like a jet engine and makes it impossible to play on it without having headphones on, so I was wondering which fan I should go for if my processor is the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T?
It should be compatible with the following parts;

MSI 870A-G54, Socket-AM3 (I think, not sure about it)
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
Corsair TX 650W PSU
Sony Optiarc(?) DVD-RW Burner
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB
XFX Radeon HD 6950 1GB GDDR5
Crucial DDR3 1333MHz 4GB
Cooler Master Elite 310

So what I am worried about is that it would take too much power but I want it to be quiet, so anyone knows any good fan for this setup?

Hmm, I don't really know what to do about it, thought my old computer had the same problem and it was impossible to play... :poke:

What you're actually looking for is called a heatsink.

If you're looking for something you should usually set a budget!
If you are on a tight one the best cooler you can get is this:
http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cases_cooling/thermolab_trinity_review/1

From here:
http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/Thermolab-Trinity-Ultra-Quiet-CPU-Cooler-pid-13629.html

It's not got Noctua-beating performance of course but for a 1055 it should allow a HEFTY overclock and then some  ;)

Could be heatsink, or fans. Could also be dust. I had the same problem on one of my computers. It sounded horrible. I ended up getting a compressed air can and spraying all of the dust and picking out the dust that wasn't removed with a Q-Tip. It's working faster and quieter now.

Its time to grow up guys and stop spreading shit daily.

I think his main problem is the combination of case and graphics card though, as the 6950 is quite a hot card and is standing right under the cpu heatsink so all the heat goes up and into it. Still with a better than stock heatsink it should be better
