You heard it folks, steam is working on a new system where downloads will be smaller, faster and possible to schedule. You can test out this system the next time you download an HD trailer from Steam. The first game to take advantage of this new system will be Dota 2.

I just read also that updates will be different. In the current system, the updates replace full files. In the new system, they will only fill the difference between the two files. In addition, you can download a game's updates while playing the game itself, so they can be applied when you exit.
