Running SA:MP on Linux

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about running .exe's, or more specifically GTA on Linux (GNOME).

I've decided that I want a change from Windows, and this is the best was to go about it.

If it's too complicated, I have my Laptop, but y'know, I'd prefer it on my desktop :L

Try a program called Wine.

It rings a bell, I used it on Ubuntu.

But I decided I was too lazy to wipe my PC and install Linux :P

I installed Wine alongside my XP Installation and ran games using Wine just fine by right clicking on games installed in the Windows Directory and running it with Wine.

HOWEVER, Linux does not support Direct X, so I could not get San Andreas to run, although I got many Open GL games working such as Live for Speed.

Try to find a less-legal version of Cedega. It's a closed-source version of Wine, that can handle DirectX. I'm using it, and it works like a charm. There are a few negative sides on running SAMP on *nix, but you'll have to check the appdb from WineHQ
