So Facebook is trying out an entirely new profile page, which instead of being a list of posts on a wall, is a timeline running vertically down the page. Even though I usually hate any change whatsoever, I actually quite like this new update, especially since the info page is still intact along with the "like" lists (which are unchanged). In addition, you can add a nifty cover photo which is a large picture along the top of the profile.
With the Timeline you can go to any point in the past and see everything from that point as represented along the timeline, which technically was always possible but quite difficult to do, as you had to scroll all the way down through the list whereas with the timeline you can select (on the right hand side) the year and month.
Facebook said that they were going to roll out the update on an opt-in basis in the next few weeks, but you can get it now if you follow the 5 minute guide to join the Facebook "developers" section which is on a site somewhere (google for it).
Note: The right-hand ticker and chat selection window are not shown in the screenshots as my screen is not wide enough to display them along with my docked bookmarks window. For anyone else, they will be there as normal.
