The new gen intel processors reach 105C without a problem.

That's not true. If you go above 80 every day, don't expect it to work for more than 2 or 3 years.

Ivy Bridge gets so hot because they used bad TIM between the heatspreaders and the cores themselfs. That's why I chose Sandy Bridge instead of Ivy Bridge, so that I wouldn't have to take risks by removing the heatspreader.

I have 3rd gen, i7 3630Qm in my laptop. Doesn't heat up, it hates very less compared to my second gen i5, but it says its safe even if it reaches 105.

I was talking about Socket 1155/2011, but if your CPU reaches 105 a lot, then don't expect to be using it for more than a few years.  :D

They're convenient when you don't want to buy a $1000 PC every 2 years.
I am terribly sorry for you and your country if you have to give in $1000 for a good gaming PC.

You know you're wrong if you hide behind your invisible powers you never had in real life. Those who watch me will entirely understand.

Why do I do what I do? Because I know you won't stand someone opposing you. And because you know you can't prove me I'm wrong.
