So a few months ago my GTA:SA decided to start crashing with opcodes every time a car exploded. I'd put up with it for a while, with people suggesting it was sound drivers or texture settings or just anything really.

So I tried to update sound drivers; no updates. I changed texture settings to no avail. I even freaking re-installed the game and now I can't even get into the GAME without crashing! I think there might me a car exploding underneath me every time I connect. Which means the fresh install didn't help.
Which means I'm out of ideas.

Help! Thanks!

Have you tried installing GTA SA to a different directory, than the on you usually use?

Negative. What difference might that make?

Is it only MP issue or whole game?

Try SP and tell if same occurs there

I've had the same issues before, what helped was reinstalling GTA, deleting GTA_SA.set and moving GTA San Andreas folder from Rockstar Games folder to Program Files itself.

Will try all of the above soon. Thanks for the continued responses.

Okay, so in Singleplayer, I do not crash when a vehicle explodes.
After trying Singleplayer I tried multiplayer, exploded a car, and I got the opcode crash. I then tried to reconnect and on every single reconnect attempt, as soon as I login, I get an opcode crash. No matter how long I wait before logging in, I only crash upon logging in.

I tried moving GTA: San Andreas out of Rockstar Games and just into Program Files, but that hasn't fixed the problem.
I have to go to work now so I'll try another fresh install in a different directory tonight.

Any mods? Sometimes when you re-install the mods will stay and are not uninstalled, also I'd try rebuild the archive too.

Good luck man and let us know here.

Just to confirm, I have attempted instaling the game in a different directory. I even unticked the box to install the San Andreas Audio, so I'm really at a loss for what the problem could be.

I'm trying to find another .img file that I have of GTA:SA, perhaps it's the copy I'm installing with that's giving me trouble.

Tried a few different things including disabling exclusive use of a sound device in sound options, disabling the main sound device, etc, problem still persists.
I turned up my in-game sound (I've never used GTASA sounds) and it seems to crash on particular noises - eg, there's 5 or 6 sounds for a car hitting things, and on the 5th or 6th time I hit the wall, I crash and the sound repeats over and over.

Okay well, I did some searching on the SA-MP forums, and apparently it's some kind of weird ass issue with dual monitors on Windows 7.
So for now it is fixed, but I will try to find a way to continue with two monitors.
Thanks for your help guys!

Interesting as I run windows 7 with dual monitors and have no issues.

What kind of video card drivers + settings?

Nevermind. I just updated my graphics drivers and that has appeared to fix all of the issues.
