HL 2 Episode Two torrent need some help with installation

Hey! I downloaded HL2 Episode Two from a torrent download program then when the download finished i just unpacked with winrar the archives (it took 4 hours) and then i read the readme here is what it writes in:
'Create shortcut on hl2.exe and add these parameters: -steam -game ep2
It will look like: X:\somedir\portal\hl2.exe -steam -game ep2

Run the shortcut and have fun'

 
Im wondering what means parameters and how to make it work,if u got any solution pls help me.

Dude... torrent are stupid when it comes to stream...

And also, it should be a stand-alone or the CD key would not of worked.

kk I know how.. you got the hl2.exe .. right click and use "make copy(shortcut)" (or something like that)
you will know have "copy of HL2.exe" .. right click on it and press properties..

You will see a "X:\somedir\portal\hl2.exe" (1st one)

make it: "X:\somedir\portal\hl2.exe" -steam -game ep2

and press ok.. have fun
