Modern monarchies in my eyes are great symbols of culture, history and a part of a nation. Even if you don't like them, at least most don't get in your way. Many do a lot of good, setting up charities, trusts and supporting genuinely good causes - using their name to give awareness to something that actually might matter.
Being born into a royal family puts you at the heart of a lot good (like the fact that you may not have to worry about a job, certain social connections, what's in your pocket, though of course it's not true with all current or former royal families), but you inherit a lot of pressure and maybe even hate from people that have never met you.
A prince living in a country with a different monarchy? Hmm.
He worked in the financial sector, but I think he had holdings and such back in the Netherlands, though for work purposes was based London side.
Mikal, you thinking conspiracy? The Dutch have people everywhere? : D
