Paris police shoot dead a man carrying a meat cleaver exactly a year after the Charlie Hebdo massacre by jihadists, as President Hollande promises to boost security.

The suspect was carrying a meat cleaver and wearing a dummy suicide vest.

Yes, police said they saw wires coming from his belt and so they had a robot inspect him, he tried to make it look like he had a bomb, maybe he planned to take hostages inside and was going to use the fake bomb as a bargaining tool.
