Can't move around

I don't know what triggered it (misclick, hotkey/combination), but at some point while playing SA:MP, my Windows mouse cursor popped up and caused my game stop working normally. I can still do everything with my mouse (move camera, punch, aim, etc.) and type in the chat but I'm unable to pause or move around. Same thing with singleplayer, where I can't even go past the menu at all. Tried compatibility/admin modes, removed mods located in modloader, nothing works though. I've also noticed that whenever I close out the game, it doesn't close until I tab out the game prompting it to finally close itself.

Are you on Windows 10? Does the cursor go away when you press ESC?

It didn't. Every key that did not have anything to do with SA:MP (the F-keys, T, etc.) was basically useless. Reinstalling the game on to a new directory fixed it, but I still wonder what caused it and how to fix it.
