Wisdom for the community of Argonath Take 2

Hello Argo,

I am still around as you can see. I wrote a little something for Argo today that I hope you all enjoy. It has many lessons contained within it.


Fish

You start off as a fish in a bowl, you have no concept of the world you are born into; then you grow into adult hood through a series of experiences. These experiences shape and teach you about the world giving you a basic world view.

As you continue your journey forward, you figure out where you fit. You figure out as you begin to get more curious in some parts of life and less curious in others that there are certain parts of the bowl you prefer. Other fish like this part too and so friendships form.

As you continue to build on your experiences at a certain point you are then able to draw on them and then leverage them. If the basic world view you are given in adolescence does not match the world that you experience in adulthood, difficulties can develop that will lead you unprepared for the journey ahead. Heed these warnings or you may get gobbled up in unfortunate setbacks and difficulties that arise. This is not for you.

Instead as a fish you navigate through the water coming into contact with different fish along the way. These can show you the right path to take for your journey forward when you transition from the bowl to the pond.

Somewhere in this pond you will begin to see how patterns develop and be able to see a basic structure to this world you are in. Dig a little deeper with the nature of the pond and you will then discover opportunities, fascinations and attractions.

You can see how fish swim together, make families or continue in solitude. You pick which ever fits and continue down your journey into a stream.

As you progress a little further down stream you find that you are only part of a very small pond and that opportunities exist if you can only expand your current vision; creating a wider world lens. That streams can lead elsewhere.

You’ll then begin to see as you continue your journey; elements of yourself that you are already familiar with from the smaller pond. Get comfortable enough and you’ll find yourself calling it a lake.

In here the water is much deeper and there’s far more to explore, provided the foundations you have at this point are strong enough. You’ll begin to see new unbound potential. You’ll be able to categorise the winners from the losers. The ones who will survive, thrive and prosper from the ones who remain idle and lifeless in a constant routine, despite their ability to survive on their journey.

Now here’s what separates the fish that survive in the lake to those who survive in the sea. It’s Adaptability.

They can change in their environment depending upon what challenges they face. Getting this far requires considerable effort and time around the world, having at the same time had many experiences that together form underlying principles about who you are, what you’re not, where you’ve been and where you’re going. They also make up your belief and value system.

The transition from lake to sea is perhaps the biggest challenge of all. The sea contains some of the rarest forms of fish. It’s also the place where the best fish are. It’s also the most treacherous of waters. Being in this environment involves a whole different skillset, but so too are the rewards of thriving in this type of sea water.

Here will be the greatest test of all. If you have the ability to swim across the world, you will take on a whole load of different experiences. Beware though as the protection once offered by the lake will no longer exists as you journey out into unchartered territory.

Instead, be sure to stay within the lights reach, because as you encroach upon the darker waters, life will become even more desperate.

The dark waters contain many hidden elements which as fish we are unprepared for. These dark waters have nasty fish lurking under shadows and can certainly eat you alive if given too much just cause.

Here fish that you think are friends can turn against you, if they think you are weak prey and the hunted also has a chance to become the hunter.

Be smart in these waters, so that you when faced with these depths you do not crack under their intense pressure. For as you rise from these depths the conquerer, you will then become leader of the pack.

What will then start to happen as you get bigger taking on the world and succeeding at it; fish will want to flock under you away from the dangers that lurk elsewhere. As more fish begin that flock towards you in seek of protection and comfort, you then begin to own this part of the sea. As you start to own portions of the sea; free from the dangers that once existed, true innovation and creativity can develop from within. This is the place you must have a vision of getting to. Even though it may be difficult to journey forward this far, this is where the treasures lie. Many fish will not make it this far along the journey, but for the ones that do the reward will outweigh the pain and difficulty of the journey.

Carry on a little further along this journey and you’ll then begin finding ingenious solutions to the difficulties other fish are having. As you then continue to further work with your experiences and new found knowledge, more fish will flock to you for the incentives that your part of the sea provide. As the momentum grows, you will then eventually rise upwards to new found land.

Those who see the benefit of what I've posted should be expanding on it and using it in ways that are meaningful to their own lives; for those people try this:

2) Taking what I have read, what I part of the water might I be in ?
3) Going forward, what are the dark waters I may be facing right now?
4) Knowing that the journey is long, what do I need to focus on?
