What about donating for a full-time scripter for a month or two, to put few things in order and help the current team to finish their current projects? I think it's possible to find one online, isn't it?

I never thought I would ever agree with something Dennis says, but he's right. And seriously, cut the 'lets be patient with current developers' drama, playerbase is around 0-10 players so what the fuck you're talking about? We've been waiting for some BASIC scripts since YEARS but all we heard was just silly excuses regarding 'IRL issues'. We're sick of 'we will do this' 'we will do that' propaganda, facts matter much more than words. If you just sit on your ass and choose to cry how busy IRL you are then just go away, retire for a few weeks/months then come back whenever you can do your work properly.

I'll be honest here - The only reason we took this on and are staying is because there's absolutely zero other people able and willing to do free scripting work. The recent spike in toxicity in the community has essentially warded off anybody other than us to even consider it.

I want features such as item storage just as much as you guys, but the way RS5 is structured makes that very difficult to implement. RS5 isn't a gamemode, it's a collection of filterscripts that have to communicate with each other, and making them communicate with each other effectively takes thousands of lines of code. Most of the bugs you guys encounter are actually a result of miscommunication between these separated scripts.

If we had the time and manpower to do it, I would honestly see to it that RS5 be rewritten into an RS6 with everything modulated but all in one gamemode for simplicity sakes.
Not only would we need more help to do something like this, such a drastic change would probably require an entire server stats wipe, which IMO is probably needed but it would make people with their thousands of kilos of drugs and money to leave...

As far as I remember RS5 was supposed to make it much easier for new features to the script to be added and that implementing RS5 a complete server stats swipe would never be needed again. That's what Gandalf said, I don't know anything about scripting.

A server stat swipe would be a bad idea even if it were possible now, because we don't have a big playerbase to rebound on afterwards. Even though we had such a huge playerbase on RS4 we all know how dead was RS5 on its release.
