Well, in Call of Duty 4 online, im running about 80-90 FPS.

When i record, i start lagging, i have it set to 50 FPS, idk why it does it...
on Battlefield 2 i can record perfectly fine.

Is it because AA is set to max?

Used to happen to my old PC I could find no way to fix it unfortunatly :( But my new computer it works fine so I dunno. Try checking other forums/websites for info and help with the issue at hand.

FRAPS records uncompressed videos... it uses a sh*tload of your processor power.
Try to use a lower resolution, and set to half-size in FRAPS... the framerate should improve. Btw, AA won't be even noticed when you'll compress the video, so you can turn it off anyways.

can be, already tried out wiht NO AA?

And, have you already setted the FPS to 29,97? Try it out. I've done a lot of movie in SA, and it was laggy, because the FPS number was too high

That's funny, saving an uncompressed avi takes a sh*tload of less processor power than packing it. Get the figure? Compression = Calculation = Processor power

I'm having a similar problem.
When I record videos with the mic as recording device, there no lag at all.
When I use stereo mix it lags as hell.
And I want to record them in 15fps and I can't. It always types 29.97 back on the box.

Yea youre right... about the processor usage i meant the recording itself, not compression.. i have no idea why i wrote that it saves uncompressed, now i see that it doesnt make real sense

Back to the subject matter, you should keep the Fraps recording FPS as 25/30: higher ones might cause slow-as-hell recording. Also try updating to a newer version of Fraps: it's helped me in the past.

You might also want to try other recording programs (like GameCam).
