Flags Of Our Fathers

a week ago, i decided to watch Flags Of Our Fathers, and before i hesitated to see it because i dont really like war movies... only one i liked was Windtalkers and Platoon, but i just thought "Oh damn i will see what the hype's about"


Its a pretty long movie for starters, and it has an intro beginning end, and so i watched it, and after, I was real shocked...

This movie was the best movie i have seen in... ages.

I dont want to spoil anything, this bond between the guys, they had brutally lost a lot of their friends, and they put the flag up on to of the island of Iwo Jima. Only 3 survived, and they became famous and because of this, in the end they got split.

overall i thought it was a damn 9/10, deducted the 1 because it was real long


have any of you seen this? really powerful.

Its a great movie, i specialy like it because it deals of those brave people as people, not just numbers, real people with their fears and traumas of war...

only one i liked was Windtalkers and Platoon,

i see u only watched ww2 movies bout pacific battlegrounds...

if i may suggest get "Band of Brothers"

its a serial of 10 movies, u can watch them as one whole or watch each part as unique movie, it deal bout a group of men,band of brothers, from boot camp all th way to the end of war, and the best thing is those arent made up people, at begining and end of each episode theres a minute or 2 a "talk" old people, and if u watch proplerly ull see that those men were men in movie, it made a strong effect on me, i stongly suggest this series to u.

u should watch Letters from Iwo Jima its made by the same director and its the same battle in Flags of Our fathers but from the japanese perspective.

I heard it was pretty good but I didn't know it was from a Japanese perspective...if you guys are ever in you know a 12 hour boredom and have the sudden urge to watch WWII history films, watch "The War" ...I think it is a PBS program and its on dvd...it is pretty good.
