WLM - Slow downloading?

Good evening, since I moved to a new house in the same city. I noticed that my WLM downloading speed went down to about 1 kb an hour (little bit overreacting, but you get the point).
That with the fact that my download speed went up from max 320kb/s to 1200kb/s in my new house. I'm living here a while now, but it really starts to bother me now because my speeds were normal in my old house.
What may cause that problem?

Specs of my pc:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3,16 Ghz
9500GT DDR3 512MB
4GB of DDR2-800 ram
Windows Vista Ultimate
Windows Live Messenger 8.5 with WLM plus

Does anyone have experience with this, or does anyone know how to solve it? Please respond.
PS: If I need to port forward any ports, please tell me which ports, as I do know how to port forward

You can try to find another site wich offers you WLM 8.5, download speed should be faster there.

What I mean is that if i'm downloading let's say an mp3 file from someone else, it goes REALLY slow.. I didn't have this problem in my old house.

Make sure you don't have any programs opened like torrents; or anything else you know it uses internet connection.
Close all applications wich you won't need, and then try downloading again.

Normally you should have good speed.

The only thing that I have open is msn itself
So, thanks for replying, but that's not it. Firewall is also set up like it should.

It might be that the connection between you and the other person is not good.

Test it with someone else.



WLM download is just slow and I think you are limited to the upload speed of the other user. ( Which is now slower because you live somewhere else? )

I think it's slower then other things because the person might be uploading to their server and your downloading it from the server what they've uploaded.  I could be wrong and they could just be uploading it directly to you.  Not sure, WLM Transfers has always been pretty slow for me even though I have fast speeds.
