yeah i got it unfortunatley... i need some help. it's only 3 flashing lights atm so does that mean there is still hope or is it completely fucked? i'm gettin GH:WT 2morrow for xmas and i would like to actually play it :/

Red ring of death usually means overheating, from what I know, the rings appear when the console gets too hot (like a defense system, a bit) so just leave it to cool down a bit, I got it once, 1 hour later, working fine

Try to Reinstall ur 360 again, all cables out, clean them, and that.
Or i dont know, then you can contact someone on eBay or sumthing.

Unplug then Plug in 360's cables.
That's how my friend could fix 3ROD.

well, i've completely un plugged it, blown through the grills (incase there is some dust) taken all the cables out and stuff, let it cool down so there is zero heat comin from any of it and it is still buggered... that's my xmas ruined

Wrap yo' 360 around in 3 towels, turn it on for 15 mins, (Yes, you are over heatin' it)

The heal will melt some wires together, After 15 minutes are over, remove the towels, and just let it cool for 15 minutes, your 360 should now work.

It might fix it forever, though I doubt it, send it to Microsoft, they should fix it.

no it is not it worked for me then 2 weeks later my friend got it and i helped it work for him so it worked on 2 xbox 360's his died out 1 month later after doing that but mine is still going my friend sent his back to microsoft and he got to keep every thing but the system it self the wires the hard drive and when his new 1 came it had new wires new hard drive it was like buying a Xbox360 all over again

But the thing is i got the ring of death but it wasnt even from over heating... like i said it had over 12 hours to cool down from the last time i played which was not excessive. It just decided to die over night. Now it's nice that everyone knows how to fix an over heated 360... anyone who doesnt is probably a bit slow but i think the problem was dust in the fan or something, now i tried opening it up but i gave up and put everything in a bag to be buried with great ceremony in my garden but i reckon the console's dying wish would have been an investigation into it's death so i have done some research and i have drawn to the conclusion that it just died in it's sleep of old age. She was pretty old... atleast 4 years even 5 years service and i think that getting her hooked up to live a couple weeks ago started to finish her off... And 4-5 years without even getting a hairdryer through the grills, i was just asking for dust trouble, wasn't i? Well, she's at peace now and has been replaced with a 120GB Elite which came with Gears of War 2 and Too Human (w0000000000000t) so her death will always be remembered as the beginning of a new gaming chapter in my life, and just in time for some HD band battles on Guitar Hero.
