Following topic is made to try and clarify certain issues which normally does take a lot of admin time on a specific player, when it is really not needed(if these guidelines are followed).
1. Free name change.
Free name change is allowed only when your first name is the same, before and after /changename. This is regardless of whether you are joining clan, leaving clan etc. It is true that in the past and in very few cases even in the present, admins have made mistakes and granted free name changes where the entire name was changed for free. That does not right a wrong. Please avoid saying "But xxx admin allowed me free name 5 days ago". It will not be allowed. Following examples are given for clarity. Apologies for using various clan names for examples.
[Rstar]Cutt3r can change name to Cutt3r_Corleone for free
[Rstar]Cutt3r cannot become [Rstar]Scissor for free.
[Rstar]Cutt3r can become [Rstar]Cutter for free(name is not changed)
[Rstar]Cutt3r cannot become [Gstar]Dwayne for free.
If your name after adding clan tag is already 'taken' tell the admin who allowed the free name change and ask him what name you can use. Do not take it upon yourself to take a new name. Always get the response of the admin in such a case. If that admin who allowed free name change doesn't respond, talk to another admin and ensure he knows about it.
I hope things are clear about this.
2. False reporting
Quite often than not it is seen that new players who attempt to roleplay are being discouraged from doing so by our super leet regulars. 2 times in 2 days I have seen and personally warned 2 players for false reporting(one was tempbanned for continuing to lie about it) because I was watching the regulars. Recent case involved a new player who ran upto a regular and said "Give me all your money" and aimed his gun, then fired when he was ignored. The regular reported for DM....What difference is there between what the new guy did and what our regular robbers do? And the new guy roleplayed it unlike some others who simply drive up and shoot because they have a validation against any and every person who has an "enemy" tag on his name. Please do not discourage the new guys...I can personally vouch that our server attracts a lot of lovely roleplayers. Keeping them/making them stay is upto us. More good roleplayers is always more fun. Be friendly please. If false reporting is continued by the same person harsher punishment may come your way.
3. House setting
Before requesting an admin to set a house ensure the following:
- The house to be set needs to be a building which looks like a house. Any building remotely a business type or being in a business location will not be set.
- Choose your house interior before hand. Check interior IDs on the "gallery" section and make sure that your interior is not bigger than exterior(more or less)
Trying to get another admin to set a house/interior when an admin has already told you that it cannot be set is just plain cheap. If an admin says it cannot be done, respect that opinion even if you do not agree with it. You may discuss with the admin regardless, but do ensure it remains a discussion and not anything else
. No admin in interested in denying you a house or interior. When something is denied there will be real good reason for it.
