Hey all, once again I got a problem with WLM.
Well, I've been getting this problem before so I preferred to use the older version of WLM, but now it forced me to install it (otherwise I couldn't login). After Messenger is installed, while attempting to login (with proper address & password), comes up the old usual "a problem occured with ... and needs to be shut down" screen, involving "Windows Live Communications Platform" (wlcomm.exe) and I get taken back to the login form.
I have researched about any possible similiar problems and I found one, tried this:
ok try this:
Start >run and type this:
regsvr32 Softpub.dll Mssip32.dll Initpki.dllthis procedure re-registers some network dll's that msn uses, also check fire wall maybe it is blocking
wait till all 3 complete(you will get msg asking to click ok) last one takes a bit longer to regiser
try loging after
But it did not work.
Some extra information:
Messenger - Version 2009, build 14.0.8089.726
OS - Windows XP Service Pack 3
I haven't installed any of the add-ons in the installation menu (family safety, mail, etcetera).
Every time I run WLM there's an error box popping up saying the "Discovery DLL file was not found" (yes, I had Discovery installed once), since the older version.
