Windows Live Messenger problems

It all started when I had to swap back to my old machine running Windows XP Professional. At the moment it has Windows Messenger installed which works fine but it is very old school and hardly has any features.

I attempted to install Windows Live and it said it had installed ok. However when I put my Windows Live ID in, payne_in_the_ass[at]hotmail.co.uk, and try log in it says, "Your contact list is not available right now. Please try again later. Error code 80072ee2." Now the thing is, I have Windows Live on my Dad's PC downstairs and I can log into that without any problems. It also works fine on the Windows Messenger. I have tried to create a new account but the same problem arose.

I've searched around the internet but none of the windows sites seem to load on my system and I can't find any e-mail address to send a problem too. I've tried a few things like re-installing, registering dll's etc but it didn't help.

Anyone know how to fix it???

Thanks for posting the link but it didn't help. I've tried to go on the links it says on that page, the Windows Live support ones, but nothing to do with Windows Live or Messenger opens.

TIP: Maybe you should replace the '@' by something else (i.e [AT]) to prevent spammers & bots.

Which version do you have? Try upgrading.

the date and time  of The Computer has to be Correct for Live to work so check it ; D

Something is wrong with the computer itself (date, time), check the settings dude.

The date and time is correct to GMT so I can't see why that would stop it from working.
