Idea 1:

Each player starts with 5 reputation points.Players and Users can grant a reputation point to each other once on each post only.Reputation points will be auto-increased,depending on the user's activity.To grant a reputation point user must have 15 posts,incase some guys just make a dozen of accs to give them reputation.

Idea 2:

Under the post on the right."Thank you" bar

Under the post,left.

  I do kind of support this, however I just don't think it will be fair. Players who belong in a group will simply "thank" their comrades, and if someone causes some trouble ingame for example with a group, they may get spammed with negative feedback and get a bad reputation regardless of what they posted.

  Unfortunately I just don't think this system will be used responsibly on these forums.

Yes I agree with you.Maybe being able to give a negative reputation to the user aswell would stabilize the whole kind of system?

  Oh I assumed there would have been a negative reputation anyway. Either way it wouldn't balance out, as it would allow groups to cause havoc with it!

SMF does have a reputation system, but I am not sure if it would be positive to use it here.
Too many players are hungry for attention and recognition and it would hurt their fragile and tender souls causing them to flame their asses off.

Reminds me Communism with all those Parties and Control...

Do not support this idea, as was experienced a lot with it and nothing good came up from that... Making no sense from all idea... Actually the reputation and thanking mod is good developed and supported on two types of forums:

* download forums, where people thank for files
** house clubs or whatever, where people do talk about nothing, and forums are just like a game for them...

People don't need to be told how reputable a player is, because they will know in themselves if that player deserves respect.

I wasn't agreeing with the original idea but pitching a solution to the problem Gandalf wrote. Although the idea is fine in itself, I do think it would be abused and certainly isn't necessary and hasn't been necessary for the past 3 years.
