hey everyone i have a simple qeustion and i dont want to get into a lot of trouble by doing something i am not sure of. thats why i ask the following.

well. there is this game. drift city, and i wanted to make my own installer for the game, so my friends and/or qeusts can download it from my website. so if i say that i take no credit at all, will i be able to legally do this?

Illegal (copyright infrigement). You can only do this legally if you change all copyrighted files or if you get permission from the copyright holder.

well there are 2 versions of the game. 1 is hosted by ijji the other one by sevengames. so... is it really impossible?

with much hard work, yeah.

Maybe you should try and get permission from Current Copyright holder, possible make an agreement you will advertise / sponsor the original files / game you modified to create your game, such as on the website / forum ''Thanks to xxx for the original game'' or something, or maybe just ask and see.

Well, the original author of the game, if copyrighted can sue you for copyright violation if you haven't got his permission.
