However i have heard that since John(janek) left there has been alot of friction with getting access to the FTP+Cpanel and paying to renew it etc; therefore they're requesting a sub domain so they can manage it themselves and only Owners/Webmasters can remove it

We are also more free to do what we want with the site, seeing as it is us who are paying for it.
