You see, America is becoming the new Cuba. Of course you all know how Cuba has 1950s cars, well, the U.S. is becoming like that. It's not because of inflation of new cars, it's the climate legislation to blame. About 5 years ago, an average SUV or a pickup was below $40,000 USD. Now, the average pickup truck starts at around $75,000 USD, and an average SUV starts around $60,000 USD. Most of this sharp uptick in costs are part to blame due to the enviromentalists' agendas. Sure I understand getting more mpgs for ya money for the workhorses of America, but trying to make a pickup get 40 mpg street? That's just not gonna happen in 2 years! (Exception: Diesel)

For diesel, it's almost a $1 price increase from regular Unleaded gasoline! I mean, in the oil refining process, to make diesel uses less chemicals and less heat then to produce regular gasoline! Because of that, doesn't that mean it should cost less? Think about this, about how the U.S.A. is becoming the new Cuba car-wise.

I forgot to add that I live in a rural enviroment. As noted in a rural setting, low pay is common. My family only makes $75,000 a year. And here, that means that ya very rich.

In Norway you have to pay 200k $ + for a brand new Ford Mustang.

In the US it's closer to 40-45k $ from what I hear.

It is fucking ridicolous with these "enviorment taxes" that are being put upon us. They are higher than the cost of the motherfucking car! VIVA LA REVOLUTION! VOTE FRP!

I wasn't sure did it concern just Europe or the whole world but in a recent study, Finland has the oldest cars in use by average - mainly because of the enormous taxes on new cars. And concerning the comments above, in 2008 the average yearly income of one person in Finland was 23,000EUR, aka. around 32,000USD. And not to mention, petrol already costs here 1.60EUR a liter - or when compared in gallons, 6.50EUR per gallon aka. 10.50USD per gallon.

And to add there, another recent study shows that from all Europe's capitals, Helsinki is the most expensive.
Oh and, another good example. The Bugatti Veyron, $1,000,000USD, right? ($1 million), in here that's 1,700,000EUR (1,7 million EUR) aka. $2,400,000USD.
That's 140 percent more than in the US, just because of the taxes.

Mate, that's quite a lot.

Dude, I moved to Tennessee in July 21st 2006. I lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia most of my life. In VA Beach, my family was making about $175,000 a year, and there that pay's considered the borderline between middle and high class. And as I said, the $75k per year here in Campbell County, TN is considered very rich. Plus take in the fact that about 45% of it goes to the government for taxes, we moved to Tennessee because it's one out of the few states that has no income tax :) Virginia does have an income tax.

A bit off topic: It seems that after I moved to TN, all of the "good" stuff happens to VA Beach now. They've got like 5 inches of snow now, and are expected to get even more tonight. Ask Leon_Gvardia, he lives near where I used to live at! Ask him about all of the snow and stuff! Last year, they got so much snow that my ex-GF that lives there, Nova, clearly saw one thing. Snow, and VDOT doesn't know how to plow roads in Hampton Roads! (Hampton Roads is a combination of the cities: Norfork, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Chesapeak, Newport News, Portsmouth, and Suffolk)

Even though with that $200 you could've bought a house back then.

loled

In England, the lowest price BRAND NEW car I have seen for quite a long time is from a foreign/unknown brand.

The Perodua Kelisa cost my parent 4.5k brand new about a year ago. All the other cars were at least 6.5-7k

pwned
