Mortal Kombat: Legacy is a 2011 web series created by Kevin Tancharoen. It was originally conceived after a "pitch" video entitled Mortal Kombat: Rebirth. The series takes place before the events of the first game and tells the background stories of several characters from the franchise, culminating in their reasons for participating in the first Mortal Kombat tournament
