Penalty for switching sides [bank robbery]

So actually, everytime I'm in the game players ask about possibility of bank robbery. Not to mention some of them still write that in global chat instead of PM... But here's the deal. For example, it's 3 criminals vs 4 cops. I enable the robbank script, and after a little shootout everyone goes criminal because of "I need money too". This have to be fixed somehow.

Due to VCPD inactivity, freecops often have to be bribed so they won't switch side in case of bankrob (!).

We cant put restrictions to that.

Though, you are right....

I guess this can be solved by heavy discouragement.

When a cop respawns and joins as robber, the robbers should not split cash with him.
Rather, you should hold him hostage, torture him, put a stubby in his guts......such lame money hungry actions should be criticized.
I guess, if everyone on the server starts calling him a "Lame Boon Money Hungry Traitor!!!".....that guy will think 2wice before repeating such an act.

The term "b00N" was introduced in 2009, I noticed that M60 usage drastically dropped among SWAT units since then .

In theory, this could work. However, in a situation where an admin asks a player who was, say, previously a criminal to go cop, the script would penalize the player. Then again, another admin command for that would fix that.

Something more annoying is revenge-kill by hiding behind cop legal DM rights. Like when you fight a gang and beat them, then they all go freecops and can legally DM you unless you're dead, and if they're dead they just come back...this should be dissallowed as well unless the scenario/event needs cops, like on bank robs.

but i don't think its possible to make this. the switch sides is a general script thingy that you can't change.

I can't blame new players not wanting to be cops. ARPD are way inactive and give no encouragement to new freecops, and then they just get slaughtered and taunted by criminals. Most active players are EAF/IT and so they join the criminals to make friends instead of just being a punch bag.

Also, the scripts can't exactly tell what cops and criminals are actually involved in the robbery. If everyone goes criminal, don't even pay them. It's not a rule that every criminal robbing the bank gets a cut. Like aXXo said, go ahead and torture them for being a money-hungry traitor. This doesn't exactly need administrative intervention or scripting.
