I remember your parents trying all they could to stop you, but sometimes its not a parent or other 'old jerk' who can get through. Then a guy who was there and understood where he was heading is the best person to turn things around.
When you manage to become counselor, remember you will not be able to save all. You may experience losing guys you tried to help, and that is going to be pretty hard. But every guy that becomes like you is a victory for life, and like in any medical profession you have to concentrate on the ones you can save.
